Trajano Augusto de Carvalho, Brazilian naval engineer (Florianopolis 1830 - Rio de Janeiro 1898)
Conceived a new design for ship's keel that provided minor resistance to movement (1868). He patented it in many European countries. It is said that British hydrodinamicist William Froude tested and approved the invention. The Trajano ship's keel drew with prominence in Universal Fair of Wien (1873). Despite these facts the invention was forgotten some time after.
Invented a system of floating docks, that he didn't patented it.
